Notes from Sunday 26 May..
Speaker: Pastor Tim Azo
Key Passage: 1 Corinthians 1: 9
When God sent Moses, he told him to tell the children of Israel that I AM sent him. God is faithful. God is faithful by nature. God is committed to his purpose, to his word, to us. Whatever God has said he will do, he is committed to it.
Joshua 1: 5-9: This means you are not alone, journeying through the world by yourself. The Lord is with you wherever you go. The Lord has said I will not fail or disappoint. ‘As I was with Moses, I will be with you‘. God related with Moses face to face. ‘Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
Genesis 28: 15: And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of. God takes responsibility to perform his word. God will not give up on us, until he achieves what he plans to do in our lives.
Man has a tendency to be unfaithful, but God stirs us up. Even when we are sluggish or lazy, the Holy Spirit of God prompts us. Isaiah 55: 11: ‘So is my word that goes out from my mouth:It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it’. Believe the word of God, there will be a performance because God is committed to your cause.
God calls us, it has nothing to do with us. None of us can claim to know why God called us. There is no one on earth that can stand before God and declare why he was chosen. We are called and chosen because of the Grace and Mercy of God, because of Christ. We are called into fellowship with his son Jesus Christ. God has called us into companionship, relationship and fellowship with Jesus. Everyone that comes into the body of Christ is introduced to Jesus, into a union with Christ.
Jesus is God, he is the King of Kings. He is not ordinary. Whatever transformation that occurs in our lives derives from the fellowship and friendship with Jesus. Whatever inheritance we receive fro Jesus results from the fellowship with Jesus. God has handed the earth over to Jesus. All power in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus. We have been called into the highest relationship: fellowship with the son of God, who is Jesus.. No one walks with Jesus and remains the same. He is interested in everything that concerns us, and we should return the affection.
We walk in Divine Blessing when we walk in friendship with the Son of God. We should be conscious of Jesus, his personality. For example: there was a transformation in the life of Ruth when she married Boaz (Ruth 3). Boaz in his glory, honour and goodness does not compare unto Jesus. As we remain in the holy estate of marriage to Christ, our lives will be wonderful. The problem is that we do not know the man unto who we are wedded.
Why has God wedded us unto himself? Jeremiah 13:11. God has done this so we might be his people. We are to become a distinguished and peculiar people for renown, praise and glory. There is a distinction between the church and the world. The body of Christ is meant to be supernatural, to be known on earth.
Jesus is God blessed forever (Romans 9:5). He is blessed forever, and that blessing should be reflected in us as we are partakers in him. God has called us into fellowship with his son Jesus. We will walk in Divine Blessings. When you come unto God, we do not need to beg, God has already blessed us. Note that as you take care of Jesus’ interests, he takes care of your interests.
God sees your struggles, do not worry. He will come at the appointed time. God needs your faith: without faith no man can please God: Hebrews 11:6. God wants our fellowship, even when there are challenges. As you walk with God, the challenges will fizzle away.
Hebrews 3:1. You are entitled to partake in everything that Jesus is. The whole world belongs to Jesus: God has appointed him head of all things (Ephesians 1: 22). As you stay faithful and strong, God will perfect everything in your life. Success is cumulative, every step adds pressure building to a bursting point. Don’t give up, don’t stop, if you do, you will stop the pressure. Remain at your duty post, and you will be in demand. Galatians 6:9 ‘And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not‘.
Persevere, you will reach the appointed end
