Pastor Austen Ukachi

Pastor Austen Chimdi Ukachi is the Senior Pastor of He’s Alive Chapel (HAC), Lagos and the Chairman of the Watchman Ministries in Nigeria. Austen gave his life to the Lord in 1968 under the ministry of the Scripture Union, during the Nigerian Biafran civil war. Since then he has maintained a consistent walk with God. He has served at various leadership positions from his secondary school days till date. While in the university, he was the General Secretary of the Ibadan Varsity Christian Union (IVCU) from 1976 to 1977 and later, the President of the Fellowship from 1977 to 1978. He was called to the ministry in 1978 after graduating from the university.
A graduate of History and Human Resources Management, Austen had a working career spanning twenty four years in Nigeria’s premier industry – the Oil and Gas industry. All through the years in the Oil and Gas industry he was a bi-vocational preacher. He retired in 2003.
From 1990 to the present, Austen Ukachi has been the Senior Pastor of HAC with over 19 congregations under his care both within and outside Nigeria.
He was for several years a member of the Prayer Committee of the Lausanne Congress for the World Evangelization; the National Coordinator, Prayer Track for the AD 2000 And Beyond Movement; and currently an Executive Team Member for the International Prayer Connect (IPC). He is also the National Co-ordinator for the Global Day of Prayer (GDOP) in Nigeria and a facilitator for the World Prayer Assembly coming up in Jakarta, Indonesia, in May 2012.
A revivalist, intercessor and Pastor, Austen Ukachi has travelled and ministered in over 40 countries of the world. He is happily married to Oluyide Ajala and they are blessed with four children. He is the author of several books on revival and prayer, which includes: Daily Guide For Revival Seekers; Experiencing the God of Wonders; Making Your Prayer More Effective; Empowered for Fruitfulness and Multiplication, among others. Since 2003, Austen has devoted his time to pastoring, researching and preparing the church for the coming global revival. He is currently carrying out a research on another book, The Pentecostal and Charismatic Revivals in Nigeria Since 1910.
