Carol Service, 21 December 2013..
We have had a blessed time of fellowship, singing hymns, praises and songs of love celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
Speaker: Pastor Tim Azo
Key Passages: Matthew 1: 21;
“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
Hebrews 2:3 says; “how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.”
Jesus came to SAVE mankind from eternal damnation. Are you saved? What will happen when you cross the divide?
The salvation of your soul is worth celebrating. This is the greatest gift God has bestowed upon us. Jesus came to save us from eternal misery, deliverance from sin, deliverance from hell and eternal judgment.
At Christmas, we reflect on the graciousness, wisdom, generosity, and mercy of God the Father, who sent his son to earth, to restore mankind to him. Jesus is love personified; “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16).
A popular hymn goes thus;
Hark the herald angels sing
“Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled”
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
“Christ is born in Bethlehem”
Hark! The herald angels sing
“Glory to the newborn King!”
Christ by highest heav’n adored
Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a Virgin’s womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! The herald angels sing
“Glory to the newborn King!”
Hail the heav’n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris’n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
“Glory to the newborn King!”
Jesus says; “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me” (Revelations 3: 20).
Open your heart to Jesus today. He asks only that we believe in him, and accept him; “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved” (Romans 10:9-10)
Merry Christmas!!
