Christmas is not about the celebration but about the incarnation;
It is about God becoming man
The Spirit took on flesh (Luke 1:26-35)
The Infinite God became finite (Philippians 2:6,7).
The Eternal One became time bound
The Creator became subject to men (Philippians 2:7,8)
The Sinless God was made a sinner for us (2 Corinthians 5:21)
The Love of God came down and became man, was rejected. John 1:10-11
Christmas is about God’s gift child, Jesus, who now lives with us. He is God with us. What then do we do with him, accept or reject him (Matthew 1:23).
But why would Jesus decide to take on human flesh. Why did he choose the path of incarnation? It is so that he may die on the cross to set man free from sin and Satan (Hebrews 2:14-15).
