History was made on the 6th of August, 2017 as He’s Alive Chapel planted its first church in Kent, the United Kingdom. After months of prayer and fasting, we give God the glory that the dream of having a church in Europe materialized with the inauguration on Sunday, 6th August 2017
The inauguration was preceded by a prayer seminar, on Saturday, the 5th of August. It featured sessions of praise, worship and prayer. Pastor Austen Ukachi preached on the topic: Moving Heaven, Touching the Earth. In his sermon, Pastor Ukachi explained that two powerful forces are capable of Moving Heaven and Touching the earth; these are man’s sins and prayers. He buttressed this with many scriptural passages and examples. Thereafter, Dr. Jonathan Oloyede took the first prayer session. He led the congregation to repent for the sins of the United Kingdom. The second prayer session during the prayer seminar was led by Pastor Ayo Joel.
The Sunday service on the 6th of August was a refreshing time in God’s presence. The General Overseer took time to explain the Mission and the Vision of He’s Alive Chapel, after which he preached on “The Preeminence of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
There was a communion service, which was taken by Pastor Yaabari Uebari and the first child dedication, which was taken by Pastor Bunmi Bammodu. Pastor Okey Ezeobi who attended the service with his wife, Ogo from Nigeria took the offering during the service.
Another highlight of the inaugural service was the formal dedication and commissioning of Hope and Veronika Ekanem as the pioneer pastors of the Church. Thereafter, they and their two daughters, Grace and Elizabeth were prayed for.
Many past members of He’s Alive Chapel, Lagos who had migrated to the United Kingdom were in attendance at the seminar and Sunday service. These include Pastor and Mrs Uche Ibekwe, Pastor and Dr. (Mrs) Yaabari Uebari, Mrs Amaka Aramunde, Uche and Ngozi Uzoma and family, Mr. and Mrs Opanuga, among others. Marie and Josephine Aster came all the way from Germany to be a part of the inaugural service. The occasion was a time of great reunion with the old members of the HAC family who reside in the United Kingdom.
