Day 29,
Read Jer. 32:16-25
Key Verses: “You are great in counsel and mighty in work, for your eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, to give everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings. You have set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, to this day, and in Israel and among other men; and You have made Yourself a name as it is this day” (Verses 19,20).
In this concluding week of our 30-day fast, nothing could be better than to remind ourselves of what God did in Egypt; he is willing to do again today. Like our key verse for today reads, “You have set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, to this day, and in Israel and among other men; and You have made Yourself a name as it is this day”
Even though God’s deliverance of Israel in Egypt occurred centuries ago, God is able and willing to do the same today. God has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. What God did for Israel in the land of Egypt serves as a pattern of what he is able to do again if we invite him.
Very simply, what did he do for his children in Egypt? He delivered them by demonstrating his power through amazing wonders and miracles. He has delivered us from sin, and he is able to deliver us from any form of bondage today.
At the Red Sea and River Jordan, God miraculously led them across. When they got to Jericho he made them walk round it, after which the walls fell before them. Thereafter, they entered to possess the land. God is taking us through the obstacles of life, he will bring us safely to our final destination.
God led the children of Israel out of Egypt, and after forty years led them into the Promised Land, a place he had prepared for them. He led them by the pillar of fire by day and the pillar of cloud by night. Today, he has given us the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, teach, abide and comfort us all the way in this life’s journey.
God supernaturally cared and fed the children of Israel in the wilderness for forty years. He is able to take care of us today in various ways (Psalm 23).
He fought the nations that arose against them in the wilderness. In a similar way, he always strengthens us for spiritual warfare.
PRAYER: Thank You O God, because You remain the same, You change not. What You did in the past You are able to do today.
