As you prepare for the upcoming 25th anniversary celebrations, the Lord asked me to tell you that Mega Grace and evidence of His faithfulness are present in His Will. That is why the title of my message is In His Will. Our God is a gracious God. In Psalm 103:8, we see that God is slow to anger and abounding in mercy. He makes the sun rise and sends rain on both the wicked and the righteous without discrimination Matthew 5:45. All these and some other attributes of God which depict His grace are common to all His dealings with man, including sending His son Jesus to die for mankind, are available to all men (Titus 2:11).
Generally, it is God’s will that mankind is saved, that’s why He sent His son. But if you limit yourself to this, your life will be limited by general/ common grace which is generally available. You will just end up as any other believer struggling with issues of life all year round because that general grace will not make you outstanding. You will only be concerned with running the general heavenly race
However if you want to experience the abundance of the grace of God and prove daily beyond doubt of God’s faithfulness, you have to locate God’s will for your life because it is therein that you will be embarrassed by His grace at an overflowing level, and live life to the full, with good health, material prosperity, ministry prosperity, peaceful family, Godly children, prosperous career or business, living to full age etc.
Hebrews 10:5-7 shows clearly that every person who comes into this world has an overriding purpose- to do the will of God. 1 Peter 2:21 clearly states that Christ came to give us an example of how to live here on earth, so the way he conducted his life is that he realized that the main purpose of coming to earth is to do God’s will- Christ found God’s will and he did it.
God’s will for you is what He predestined you to do right from the time you were formed in your mother’s womb. That is your purpose in life. That is why it has something to do with your personality, your talents, your needs, your environment and your potential (Ephesians 2:10). That is what is also called the race, your race, we are all called to the general race to enter the kingdom of God, to make it easy for you to make the general race, and God has called each person to a particular/peculiar race (Hebrews 12:2 and 2 Timothy 4:7). Our purpose of being on earth is to run the particular race: the will of God for us. Other things that we may be very busy doing are merely incidental to our coming on earth.
Therefore it is very important that we find it( the will of God) as we see in Ephesians 5:15-17. Some people are so lazy that they are not even conscious of God’s will for their lives. Others are so busy that they have designed a race for themselves and are running it zealously. For these two categories of people, please read Proverbs 14:12 and Psalm 106:13-15. However, if you can give it priority and seek it, you will find it (Luke 11:11-13). I can tell you it is worth finding and your life will be prosperous and restful (Jeremiah 29:11).
