Topic: Keep it Simple; Keep it True
Key Passages: Hebrews 12:1-3, Hebrews 7:21-25, Hebrews 8:6
I come in the simplicity of a child. Nowadays, there are many doctrines that abound which necessitates that we keep it simple and true. All we will talk about today is Jesus. When we lift Jesus up, he lifts men up. When we point men to Jesus, he shows himself to them. This morning do know that Jesus is the promise of God fulfilled. All that God has promised us has been fulfilled already.
The waters have been stirred. God is fulfilling the promises he made to us. All the promises God made to us are yea and Amen in Christ Jesus. Stop worrying. God is not asleep. Our Lord Jesus did not remain in the grave, he arose. Jesus is present- he died, he arose and is alive forever more. Jesus himself is God’s promise fulfilled. Jesus is our mediator, our guarantee of heaven, of life eternal with our God in heaven. The same power of the Holy Spirit by Christ Jesus will lift us up from any grave in Jesus name (Romans 8:11).
Christians may suffer, or go through trials and tribulations. We know that when we see those who have departed from this earth, they will be arrayed with crowns of glory. Is the Lord asking something of you? Are you led of the Holy Spirit to do something? Do not look at the cost, follow Jesus. God is calling us all to do something.
Jesus Christ is the propitiation of our sin, our covering. Jesus covers our shame. Do not let anyone condemn you; you have been saved not by acts of righteousness, but by the grace of God the father alone. The blood of Jesus speaks for us, so do not stay in your sin. Sin is wrong, and carries a penalty of hell, via the process of death. Jesus paid the price for our redemption with his life and blood. Jesus is the author and the finisher of our faith. Everything else is corrupt, fake, and promotes the self. If we stray outside Jesus, we will be destroyed by sin.
Let us keep things simple, God will magnify his work in our lives. When the Spirit of God comes, he will come in truth and power, not by our arrangement or design. Let us allow God magnify himself through our lives. In the Gospels we see that a little boy, who gave Jesus 5 loaves and 2 fish, saw his gift magnified to feed thousands (Matthew 14: 13-21). The harvest belongs to God, which is why he sent Jesus to die in order that we may be redeemed. The church is God’s church. Jesus said: pray for the Lord of the harvest, that he may send labourers (Matthew 9:38). Let us not be God unto ourselves. Let us yield to the power of God.
The Holy Spirit is our helper: ‘Paracletus’, our advocate. Do NOT let anything put you in bondage. When evil thoughts assail you, remember that the reality is we have an advocate with the Father, who is Jesus Christ the righteous. Jesus pleads for us, our Lord who lives eternally. He is the head of all principalities and powers (Colossians 2:10). Prayer is calling on God. Jesus is our intercessor. Call on Jesus! Call on Jesus! He will help you.
Jesus is our Lord, the Alpha and the Omega. We do not negotiate obedience. Trust and obey, there is no other way. He is the saviour and the master. It is our duty to honour, to obey, to serve and adore our Lord Jesus. He expects us to accept his lordship, rule and reign over us.
Jesus is not an idea, or fiction. Jesus is my savior and yours too
