Key Passages: Deuteronomy 11: 1-12;
“Therefore you shall love the Lord your God, and keep His charge, His statutes, His judgments, and His commandments always. 2 Know today that I do not speak with your children, who have not known and who have not seen the chastening of the Lord your God, His greatness and His mighty hand and His outstretched arm— 3 His signs and His acts which He did in the midst of Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to all his land;4 what He did to the army of Egypt, to their horses and their chariots: how He made the waters of the Red Sea overflow them as they pursued you, and how the Lord has destroyed them to this day; 5 what He did for you in the wilderness until you came to this place; 6 and what He did to Dathan and Abiram the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, their households, their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel— 7 but your eyes have seen every great act of the Lord which He did.
8 “Therefore you shall keep every commandment which I command you today, that you may be strong, and go in and possess the land which you cross over to possess, 9 and that you may prolong your days in the land which the Lord swore to give your fathers, to them and their descendants, ‘a land flowing with milk and honey. 10 For the land which you go to possess is not like the land of Egypt from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and watered it by foot, as a vegetable garden; 11 but the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven, 12 a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year.”
Four Effects of the Mighty Hand of God
- His Mighty Hand delivers those who are oppressed or held down. Freedom is not a gift- it is demanded. The Mighty Hand of God creates the possibility for change, or a positive shift. The Mighty Hand of God will come your way, to bring freedom, to lose the bonds which have held you captive. There will be a shift in your thinking, in your vision. God will open your eyes to the spectacular things in your life.
- The Mighty Hand of God declares the Lordship of God over situations. The demonstration of
God is in charge of your life, your finances, your family and situations. God demonstrates his power over forces contrary to His will. The Lordship of Jesus overrides your blessings, dreams or desires. - The Mighty Hand of God is for creativity. God creates by his might. Jeremiah 32:17 says “Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.”God can do anything he wants to do. Whatever seems dead or impossible can be made alive. Your time has come! The Mighty Hand of God will supply whatever is deficient in your life. There is a God that causes regeneration. There is nothing too much for God to do for you. You will receive the spirit of creativity. If you are stuck in life, the creative process will begin!! You will not be stranded. Jeremiah 33:3 says “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know”. Jeremiah 1:4 declares“Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”4. The Mighty Hand of God sets a pattern for us to follow: “because as He is, so are we in this world(1 John 4: 17b). God says we shall be like him. Exodus 7:1 “So the Lord said to Moses: “See, I have made you as God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.” We are equipped to become imitators of God in every sphere. Rise up and take your position! God can raise you, and make you a God in certain locations. You can rise to the highest level in whatever you do.
